I think it pretty much goes with out saying...you can't have a smart drawing without having a smart layering system. Your ability to control drawing information and consolidate work depends on it.
FLATLAND's layering system is based flexibility and ease of use.

At the heart of FLATLAND's layer functionality is a system of interchangeable
layer data files. User definable, these database like files control
entire layer palets.
FLATLAND users may elect to use the default layer data structure
out of the box or create their own based on office standards. Layer data files can be interchanged to accommodate individual projects or clients.
Once layers have been established, either through FLATLAND's standard layer editor or
on the fly, they can be automatically added to a layer data file, making them permanently available to all of FLATLAND commands. Layers are then created automatically in any drawing as you need them.
